Holographic tension and the radiation-reaction problem

Abstract: I will explain how AdS/CFT allows to define two independent notions of invariant brane tension in gravity. I will prove that supersymmetry identifies them, and explain the relevance of this observation for the old radiation-reaction problem of accelerating charges and heavy quarks.
